Dive into an Ocean of Light at this year’s Wild Lights in Dublin Zoo, with an entirely new cast of illuminated giant silk lanterns celebrating the wonders of the life aquatic. From giant squid to emperor penguins, colossal blue whales and dainty seahorses, Dublin Zoo, once again, will be transformed into a world of illumination with lanterns tailor-made especially for this year’s event.

Spectacular new themes feature in this year’s enchanting experience – Winter Wonderland, home to Arctic favourites such as polar bears and walruses, Celebrating China bringing a flavour of the East and The North Pole with a dazzling 16-metre high silk Christmas Tree and festive displays.

Dublin Zoo, located in the Phoenix Park in the heart of Dublin city, is one of Ireland’s most popular attractions and welcomed over one million visitors last year. As one of the world’s oldest and most popular zoos, the 28 hectare park is home to some 400 animals in an environment where education and conservation combine for an exciting and unforgettable experience.


Roam the African Savanna and spot giraffes, rhinos and zebras as you go. Hang out with the gorillas at the Gorilla Rainforest and travel through the Kaziranga Forest Trail to see the magnificent herd of Asian elephants. Sea Lion Cove and the Orangutan Forest are the newest habitats to open at the Zoo and not to be missed!  


There are so many amazing animals to discover including lions, tigers, hippos, snow leopards, chimpanzees, red pandas, penguins, okapi and reptiles to name but a few! A unique experience for visitors of all ages, Dublin Zoo is open all year round!
