Strong growth in revenue and customer numbers for Dublin Bus

Today the National Transport Authority (NTA) published the bus and rail statistics bulletin for the period 2010-2017 .  The bulletin provides information on a number of issues including bus customer numbers, bus customer journeys by region, PSO subsidy and customer revenue.  It is good news for Dublin Bus with: 

  • customer numbers growing by 21% between 2013 and 2017       
  • 54% of PSO journeys are now on Dublin Bus
  • 22% increase in customer revenue between 2013 and 2017 

Speaking about the results, Chief Executive Ray Coyne, said “these results are very good news for Dublin Bus and the city as a whole. This shows that Dublin Bus, public transport and the Irish economy is in a strong growth phase. This sustainable growth is driven by our continuous focus on enhancing the customer experience, the benefits of greater bus priority measures, introducing new modern Euro 6 vehicles with multiple USB charging points, innovating in service design and strong economic growth. With the continued support of the NTA we will build on these positive results with further service enhancements planned, to the benefit of Dublin and our customers.”
